Advertising and affiliates
How commercial relationships will be labelled and kept separate from calculations and editorial decisions.
Trust and transparency
What you should know
The key information is presented below in a short, scannable format.
Current commercial status
The current launch version has no active advertising network, sponsored placement or affiliate integration. A commercial module will not be enabled until its provider, data use, consent requirements, presentation and effect on performance and accessibility have been reviewed.
Editorial independence
Advertising revenue or a partner commission cannot change a formula, calculated result, stated limitation, source selection, correction decision or organic tool ordering. Commercial staff or partners do not receive advance approval over independent explanatory content.
How advertisements are labelled
Every paid placement will be labelled clearly at the point where it appears, using direct wording such as “Advertisement” or “Sponsored”. The label will not be hidden in a tooltip, footer, colour alone or ambiguous wording. Where relevant, the advertiser or paying party will also be identified.
How affiliate links are labelled
A link that may generate a commission will be marked beside the link before the user clicks it. The disclosure will explain that the website may receive a commission and that this does not change the price paid by the user unless a specific offer clearly says otherwise.
Free products, discounts and sponsored content
A product, service, trip, licence or other benefit provided for free or at a discount will be disclosed in the related content. If a partner has reviewed, requested or approved part of a commercial publication, that relationship will be stated rather than presented as an independent recommendation.
Placement, usability and accessibility
Commercial modules must not cover inputs or results, imitate navigation, trigger accidental clicks, or make it harder to reach sources and limitations. Reserved placements must protect layout stability, keyboard access, visible focus and readable contrast on mobile and desktop.
Privacy and advertising technology
No personalised advertising based on tool inputs or calculated results is permitted. Any future advertising technology that reads or stores device data must be described in the privacy and cookie policies and, where required, remain disabled until the user has made a valid consent choice.
Partner standards
Partners are assessed for relevance, user safety and conflicts with the service’s educational purpose. We do not accept hidden advertorials, payment for favourable calculations, or promotions that cannot be presented lawfully and responsibly to the intended audience.
Questions and corrections
A concern about an unclear commercial label, affiliate link, advertiser or conflict of interest can be reported through the contact route. Confirmed problems follow the corrections policy and may lead to relabelling, removal or suspension of the commercial relationship.
