How to use the calculator
- Start with a full tank and note the odometer. Do not count that initial fill as consumed fuel.
- For each subsequent full refill enter distance since the previous full tank and litres added. Combine partial refills until the next full tank.

Formula and calculation method
Aggregate consumption = Σ litres / Σ kilometres × 100. Km/l = Σ kilometres / Σ litres; with zero litres the reciprocal is undefined.
Worked example
100 km with 10 l and 900 km with 45 l gives 55 / 1000 × 100 = 5.50 l/100 km. The unweighted mean of 10 and 5, or 7.50, would be wrong.
Limitations
- Every row requires positive distance. Zero litres is mathematically allowed, but check combustion-vehicle measurement completeness.
- Accuracy depends on comparable filling levels and odometer readings. No electric-energy measurement, fuel-gauge estimation or tyre correction.

Frequently asked questions
Do you average the row rates?
No. We divide total fuel by total distance, correctly weighting intervals by distance.
Can I enter a partial refill?
Not as a standalone full-tank interval. Combine its litres and distance through the next full refill.
