Calculation details
Formula and calculation method
Date difference = days between dates; including the start adds 1. Working days = interval dates − weekends − weekday holidays. Calendar components describe the date difference independently of inclusion.
Worked example
24–26 December 2026 inclusive contains 3 calendar days and 0 working days. A Saturday holiday is not deducted a second time.
Limitations
- Holiday coverage: 2024–2026, including Christmas Eve from 2025. Future law changes are not predicted.
- Excludes individual days off, substitute leave for Saturday holidays, annual leave and court deadlines. Dates do not measure elapsed hours across clock changes.

Frequently asked questions
Does the same date give 0 or 1?
Elapsed counting gives 0; inclusive counting gives 1. In working mode that date must also be a non-holiday weekday.
Is this statutory working time?
No. Use the separate working-time calculator for employment hours; Saturday holidays are treated differently.
