Formula and calculation method

Attendance = (classes held − absences) ÷ classes held × 100%.

Worked example

With 100 classes and 12 absences, there are 88 presences and attendance is 88%.

Limitations

  • A school register may treat lateness, excused absences or optional classes differently.
