How to use the calculator
- Enter one grade per row, e.g. 4.5 or 3+. Both decimal commas and decimal points work.
- Set the scale and plus/minus adjustments; enter 0 to ignore a sign. For a weighted average, enter a positive weight for each grade.
- Optionally enter a target and future grade count. Calculate and check whether the target is attainable.

Formula and calculation method
Average = Σ(grade × weight) / Σweights; ordinary averages use weight 1. Required future average = [target × (current + future total weight) − current weighted sum] / future total weight. The minimum plan is rounded up to 3 decimals.
Worked example
Grade 5 with weight 2 and grade 3 with weight 1 give 13/3 = 4.33. A target of 4.5 after one new grade with weight 1 requires grade 5.
Limitations
- The 2–5 range is not a universal university policy. ECTS are weights only where regulations say so; do not omit failed grades unless the rules allow it.
- Targets use the unrounded average. Future grades share the declared weight. A required average is not necessarily a permitted individual grade; choose an achievable combination under your institution’s rules.

Are my entries saved?
Grades and results are not saved in browser storage. Calculations run in your browser; reloading clears the entries.
How do plus and minus grades work?
They default to adjustments of 0.5. Set each adjustment independently from 0 to 1. The adjusted grade must remain within the selected scale.
