Calculation details
Formula and calculation method
Pace = total minutes ÷ distance in kilometres. Speed = distance ÷ duration in hours.
Worked example
Covering 10 km in 50 minutes means a pace of 5:00 min/km and average speed of 12 km/h.
Limitations
- An average does not show pace changes, elevation, conditions, stops or physiological load.
